Bowji Gallery & Studios

The gallery and studio workshop will be opening soon. It was with regret that the Bowji Gallery Team had to postpone the original private view evening and open day which was due to take place on April 10th 2020. This was delayed due to the COVID 19 restrictions. As soon as the government restrictions are lifted the Bowji Gallery and workshop studios will be offering a range of daily and weekly workshops in ceramics, textiles, print making and glass. Demonstrations of Raku glazing and firing will take place daily during the summer months. The gallery will be open between the hours of 11am -4pm Tuesday to Sunday inclusive.

Bowji Studio's

Offer you the opportunity to Raku glaze your own pre-made, fired blank ceramic.

Prices from £15.00 - £40.00 dependant on your selection of ceramic

This event will allow you glaze your selected item, which you can then watch being fired, watching as the excitement builds when your chosen ceramic piece is first taken from the hot kiln at 950c by Sally and Heather and placed first into wood shavings in order for the smoke to create patterns before being quenched in water.
Following this you will then be able to wash away the smoke and sawdust that remains unveiling the brightly coloured crackled glaze on your chosen ceramic piece.
The process takes approximately 45 minutes.

This will give you time to indulge in a delicious Ice cream, Coffee or a Meal at

Roskillys, Croust House Kitchen Restaurant.
